These terms are a draft for Grease the Journey LLC, a Utah limited liability company. Grease the Journey LLC, 7533 S Center View CT, STE N, West Jordan, Utah 84084, USA. By using the site you agree to this draft. A lawyer still has to review it before it is treated as final. The site is a reading guide. It is not a contract for flight training, a medical exam, or a loan.

Educational use

The pages are for general education. Grease the Journey is not the FAA, a flight school, an airline, a lender, a loan broker, or a medical practice. Nothing on the site is medical, legal, or financial advice. Read the disclaimer and the privacy policy with these terms. Confirm a medical question with an Aviation Medical Examiner. Confirm a loan or benefit with the lender, the school, or the VA. Confirm a regulation with the official text and your CFI.

Who can use Grease the Journey

You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy a plan. By signing up, you confirm you are at least 18. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and refund any payments made for it.

Safety

Never rush a maneuver, flight, or milestone to earn a badge. Only attempt a maneuver or task when you are trained and ready, and talk it over closely with your flight instructor first. Your CFI decides when you're ready, not this app. A badge can always wait; safety can't. If something doesn't feel right, the right call is to wait, turn back, or stay on the ground, and that earns a Good Call badge, not a lost one.

The pledge, and the FAA checks it points to, are on the safety page. That page is visible on Free, Base, and Premium. A badge never asks you to rush a maneuver, a flight, or a milestone.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee a certificate, a medical, a loan, a job offer, earnings, a cadet slot, or any other outcome. Program windows, prices, rates, and regulations change. Ranks and badges are self-reported and motivational. They are not certificates, ratings, endorsements, or a finding that you meet a regulatory minimum.

Although we continually check for updates, prices can change at any time. Check with each company for exact pricing.

Subscriptions and automatic renewal

Base is $9.99 per month or $99 per year, plus applicable tax. Premium is $17.99 per month or $179 per year, plus applicable tax. Free does not renew and does not require a card. A paid plan is billed in advance for the period you choose. It renews automatically for the same period, at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel. You can cancel any time before the next renewal date. Cancellation stops the next charge and leaves the current period in place until it ends. It does not delete badges you already logged.

The plan name, the price, the billing period, and the fact that the plan renews are shown before you pay. When Stripe is connected, you cancel in the Stripe customer portal from the receipt Stripe sends, or by emailing privacy@greasethejourney.com and we will point you to that portal. For a yearly plan, we intend to email a reminder before the renewal once Resend is sending mail. Until STRIPE_SECRET_KEY and the price ids are set, the checkout button does not create a subscription, nothing renews, and no card is charged.

Join in our first 3 months to earn the Founding Member token. The first 50 students also get their first month free and a numbered Charter token. A card is required. Charter students are not charged for 30 days. Canceling before the first successful paid charge removes the token, and that Charter number is not reassigned. After the first charge succeeds, the token stays. The offer does not apply to sponsors, instructor listings, or featured pins, and it does not combine with another promotion. A reminder is sent at least 3 days before the first Charter charge once email delivery is turned on.

If a paid plan lapses, badges already earned stay saved and visible. Editing them, and the Base and Premium tools, turn off until the plan is active again.

Your content

Notes, photos, and hour totals you type stay yours. You give us permission to show a public profile only for the fields you opt in to publish. Do not post someone else's personal information. Do not use the site to impersonate a certificate you do not hold.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Grease the Journey and its operator are not liable for decisions you make from this site, including training you pay for, a medical application, a loan, or a job you do not get. If a court finds us liable anyway, that liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the site in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow these limits. Where they do not, the limit applies only as far as the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Utah are the intended venue. That choice is part of this draft until a lawyer confirms it.
